Forms part of the ROVALMA family of improved standard hot work tool steels modified by ROVALMA to provide highest tool steel quality and performance at competitive cost. EFICAST® 4- ER is a high performance hot work tool steel with high mechanical properties, specially at high temperature, good toughness and ductility, as well as high tempering resistance combined with good machinability and polishability. EFICAST® 4-ER features high levels of purity and micro-cleanliness combined with very high levels of thermal fatigue resistance through a tailored thermo-mechanical processing, enabling longer die and mold lifetimes.

Applications:

Tool, die and mold construction - die casting, extrusion, hot forging and plastic injection molding

Delivery Condition:

Annealed up to ~235HB

Typical Working Hardness Range:

32-54 HRc
